I highly recommend listening to the audio recording of The Greatest Love Story Ever Told by Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally.  You may not get to see photos of the jigsaw puzzles they're proud of, but you do get to hear her make him giggle a lot.  They are adorable and real and hilarious.

I miss my niece. I took time off because I needed it and to spend some time with her. She ended up going to spend time with a sick relative this week out of state.

There are some days that she exhausts me so much that I think I seriously would not have the energy to be a good mom. Leaving at the end of the day and getting uninterrupted sleep is hard to let go of. But I love her soooooooooooooo much. She’s like me in ways that my sister never has been and she expresses more interest in spending time with me than my sister ever really has. She does say my name wrong, but she says it with joy, with squeals, with love. Ugh I can’t wait to squeeze her in a biiiiig hug.

Now, one might say I like her more than my nephew, but I really don’t think you can compare them like that. I like her age more than his. When she was his age she didn’t seem to care much for me. I think he’s so much better at this age than she was, and a large factor could be having an older sibling and not just being the only kid in a sea of grown ups. He’s also been more well mannered than her at every age stage so far.

My heart might just burst when I see them.
